HAQ began its work in Andhra Pradesh in partnership with M Venkatarangaiya Foundation Hyderabad in 2003 (MVF) , a registered trust based in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The MVF has been working towards recognition and protection of children’s rights for more than a decade. Based on the non-negotiable principle that ‘‘no child works and every child attends full time formal school as a matter of right”, MVF has expanded its work to over 6000 villages in 158 mandals of 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh as well as other states viz. Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Assam, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
