VADODARA: A taskforce formed to monitor and tackle the cases of child labour has been formed under the chairmanship of district collector Vinod Rao.
The taskforce recently rescued three children who were employed in restaurants and roadside stalls and a garage. Two of the children have been handed over to their parents while one has been sent to Bal Gokulam that houses orphan and destitute kids.
According to the authorities, the taskforce began monitoring areas like ST Depot, Nizampura, Kala Ghoda, Lalbaug, Manjalpur, Tarsali, Panigate and Waghodia Road over last few days.
The taskforce comprising of government officials visited several restaurants, roadside food stalls, provision stores and garages to ascertain whether they had employed any children. Owners of the shops from where the three child labourers were found have been issued notices.
