New Delhi: Former Delhi Jal Board chief and former director of Enforcement Directorate Arun Mathur has now been appointed as the new chief for Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR). Mathur’s appointment has been confirmed by the lieutenant governor. “Mathur was selected by the government for his experience in ED as this post involves serious investigations,” said a senior officer.
Mathur has played a crucial role in the probe into alleged money laundering cases in 2G scam. In August 2008, when Mathur had taken charge at the Enforcement Directorate he had an onerous task at hand — to beef up the organisation and restructure it to increase its impact and relevance. Prior to ED, he headed the Jal Board. TNN
