NEW DELHI: More skeletons are tumbling out of the hellhole orphanage in the Walled City where an 11-year-old girl died after suffering sexual abuse over several months. Few months ago, police had received another complaint of sexual exploitation of an inmate. Sources said a girl had become a victim of 'digital rape' and the police had conducted an investigation. However, cops refused to divulge more details. 



The latest incident of rape and unnatural sex in the orphanage was first reported by TOI on Thursday. While Delhi Police is grappling for clues, the TOI report has jolted the state government into action. Delhi women and child development minister Kiran Walia told TOI that she would seek a report of the incident from the orphanage. "I will also talk to the police," she said. 



The girl died on December 24 after severe bouts of diahorrea and vomiting. The autopsy, which was conducted at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital, revealed she was a victim of rape. A case has been lodged at the Jama Masjid police station under Sections 376 and 377.

Police officials say they are questioning several people inside the orphanage, which houses close to 1,000 kids, including girls and boys. Several male employees are under the scanner. 



Women cops are reportedly talking to the friends of the victim. "We are trying to ascertain whether any male inmate or employee was seen chatting with her. We have not found anything substantial yet," said a senior police officer.
