Karuna Bishnoi has over four decades of work experience in social development, advocacy, programme planning and management with a specific focus on child rights since 2000. She has extensive experience in guiding, coordinating and tracking of child rights implementation and reporting by government and civil society; influencing national policies, plans and laws related to children rights; influencing capacity development initiatives at all levels; leveraging civil society networks for collective advocacy and planning and coordinating research.
Since her retirement from UNICEF after a term of over 27 years, she has continued to work on policy analysis and programme reviews to contribute to organizational learning and guide strategic planning and advocacy, undertake research and analytic documentation for knowledge development. She has served as Special Monitor on Child Rights at the National Human Rights Commission for one year and is a Trustee of Enfold Proactive Health Trust.
